The aim of New Zealand's residence programme (NZRP) is to contribute to economic growth through enhancing the overall level of human capability in New Zealand, encouraging enterprise and innovation, and fostering international links, while maintaining a high level of social cohesion. Under this programme, residence class visa are available under the Skilled/Business stream, the Family stream, and the Humanitarian stream. The NZRP for the 18 month period from 1 July 2018 to 31 December 2019 is 50,000 to 60,000 approved places.
