Before granting a visitor visa, Immigration New Zealand must be satisfied that the applicant does not pose a risk to:

• New Zealand’s protection against international crime, terrorism, and unlawful immigration

Applicants are required to provide evidence demonstrating a genuine and lawful purpose for travel. Visitor visas may be granted for varying durations, depending on individual circumstances, for up to nine months.
